Hey There,

Just a quick note this week. As some of you know, I got invited to do the tithing talk at my local church today which was a great honour. (First time and boy was I nervous...)

Anyway, some members wanted to know what I spoke about so I've included an "edited" transcript for those who are interested.

Listen, I'm not going to get all religious on you and am sharing this message in hope you see the value in it.

Hope you enjoy it: (Message Begins...)

I love giving. And one of the things I really enjoy each week is listening to the tithing message because you get to learn more about people and how they deal with their challenges.

Each time you give, you are not only investing in the lord, But you are investing in yourself. Each gift strengthens your faith, fills your heart and liberates your greatness from within as a faithful follower.

In Deuteronomy 16:17, the bible says, "All must give as they are able, according to the blessings given to them by the Lord your God."

He doesn’t want your finances, he wants to build a habit that will reward you for life. The money may leave your hands, but it won’t leave your life. Each time you give, he will fill your life with abundance.

While I have had many struggles and challenges, today, I want to share a personal story of when I was given a big blessing.

I graduated from Chiropractic school in late 2001 and moved to Lennox Head. On the side, I worked with a seminar promoter for 4 years for free.

In late 2006, I helped him run a seminar in Sydney that did very well so he wanted me to join him full time and asked me what I wanted in terms of a package.

Well, despite everything I had done and achieved in the Chiropractic world, I didn’t have a clue what to charge.

So I surrendered to the Lord for guidance in hope of harvesting from the fields of faith instead of living with the seeds of doubt and fear. But my prayers weren’t answered.

I spoke to my wife/accountant and they told me I needed $100,000 to leave the chiropractic business. But I knew I couldn’t leave the chiropractic business because we were planning to have more children.

So when I flew over to Fremantle for the meeting, still oblivious on how to negotiate such a high amount...after all, I was only 28 years old. Who would pay me that much?

That night I surrendered again and prayed all morning for guidance. Well, 20 minutes before the meeting, I got the most profound answer:

“He’s not paying you for who you are, he’s paying you for who you become...”

So when it came to the final negotiations, my mentor asked me what it would take for me to join him...

I said "I want $250,000 plus $50,000 for expenses and 10% of the improvement I create for you...”

He agreed. (It was the longest 3 seconds of my life)

That day I learnt a big lesson. Never put a price on yourself because no one will ever pay you what you’re really worth.

But I learnt an even bigger lesson...the Lord will always invest more in you than you can give him.

All I can ever do is reward him with a fraction of what he gives me.

So, as you hold your tithe in your hands or in your mind, I want you to think about the value you are bringing to the world today and in the week ahead.

The hole that you invest through is the hole you receive from. So I encourage you to give your best and expect the best.

I finished the message with a prayer.

Whether you tithe or not is not the issue, the big key to takeaway is that you must "build habits" that add value to your life. Tithing is a great habit because if you master it, you can transfer it into other areas of your life.

Too many people start with good intentions but never get to completion. Completions give you momentum and eliminate the mental drag that causes chaos and clutter in your life.

It's easier to start a business, anyone can do it. But it's challenging to grow a business because it forces you to learn and grow above and beyond what you currently know.

While it's great to learn from books, audios and seminars, there's nothing better than speaking directly to someone who has a unique perspective.

In the last week, I've been fortunate to reach out to many big names in the game who have helped me process where I am and the next steps ahead.

Remember, nothing is missing...when you give, you grow.

Live Your Legacy,
